I experienced the magic of Loin Cloth and Ashes through the tee-shirt insert of Elle July (my birthday month issue, :) It was fate). I, being a lover of all things mystical and strange assumed love immediately as I let that tee touch my skin. I had all my chlothes on the floor that day, tried the tee with everything in my waderode. Had a fashion show complete with a photographer and critiques. It's got magic to make you smile through your life, a sense of creativity unimagined. I swear LCA is the best thing that has happened to SA modern fashion so far.
Anisa Mpungwe
Renowned Anisa, hailing from Tanzania won the Elle (RSA) new talent award at age 24. She has a BA degree in Fashion and Marketing from Midrand Graduate Institute and has also studied creative pattern cutting at the London College of Fashion. Her work experience includes working for wedding dress designer, Melissa Botha, freelancing for African Mosaique and working on a project for Paris Fashion Week (quite an achievement). She has build her connection with the right people in the industry and with the amount of creativity she has the recognition she deserves directed towards her. This year at Johannesburg, she show-cased her pieces alongside the likes of David Tlale, Abigail Betz and Laura Kass. Oh hail LCA!
